***All school rules as defined in student handbook will be followed.***
Rules –
Do not be tardy. When you enter the classroom late, it disrupts the entire class. If you are tardy, do not come to class without a tardy slip from the office.
Do not bother other students. This includes touching or verbally harassing other students. It especially means not touching property that doesn’t belong to you. Give respect to get respect.
Procedures –
Emergency Procedures
During an emergency or emergency drill, you will quietly exit the classroom and walk to the designated area outside the building. You will remain together as a class. Do not leave the designated area until the “all clear” notice is given. When the “all clear” is given, you will return to the classroom. Do not go anywhere else (bathroom, locker, etc.).
Food and Drinks
You may have water only in the classroom. Water is to be in a clear plastic bottle. No food is allowed.
Electronic Devices
Absolutely no cell phones or MP3 players are allowed in class. If I see it, it will be collected as per student handbook.
Supplies
Come to class with paper and pen or pencil every day. If you do not have a pen or pencil, you may borrow one. Assignments can be completed in pencil or blue/black ink pen. No other colored ink is allowed.
Entering the classroom
Enter the classroom with decorum. Place your belongings under your desk out of the aisle. You must be in your seat when the tardy bell rings. You will be given an assigned seat based on alphabetical arrangement. This will help me learn your name more quickly. Seating assignments may be adjusted as the school year progresses.
Bellringer Assignments
You will have an assignment posted on the board to begin each class. Work on this assignment quietly while attendance is taken. This may include journal writing or other curriculum based assignment.
Pencil Sharpening
Sharpen your pencil before class. If you need to sharpen your pencil during class, do so quietly. No more than two students at the pencil sharpener at a time.
Trashcan
Place trash inside the trashcan. Do not throw trash at the trashcan. All trash in the floor is to be picked up at the end of class.
Asking Questions
If you need to get my attention, raise your hand.
Labeling Assignments/Tests
Every assignment and test needs to have your name and row number of your seat, the class period, and the date in the upper right hand corner.
Collecting Assignments
Each class will have an assignment box located on the bookcase in the corner of the room. When directed to do so, quietly place your assignment in the box.
Missing Assignments
If you are absent, it is your responsibility to check for missed assignments. Missed tests are to be made up during the next seminar class. All make up work is to be turned in before the end of the grading period. Missing assignments and/or tests count as a zero for grading purposes.
Testing Procedures
When you finish a test, turn your test face down and remain in your seat without talking until everyone is finished. You may lay your head down if you wish to do so. You may not talk during testing. When directed, tests will be passed to the front of the row to be collected.
Restroom
Use the restroom between classes. In the event of an emergency, ask permission, and you may sign the exit sheet located by the door to use the restroom. Only one student is allowed out of the room at any time.
Dismissal
Class is not dismissed until I dismiss you. Stay in your seat until I give the dismissal. Do not leave trash in the floor when you leave.
Extra Credit (see extra credit tab for listing)
Ample opportunities for extra credit will be given. Examples could include bonus questions on tests, book reports, or other curriculum based submissions. I encourage you to take advantage of extra credit opportunities.
